Minister of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements
Development, Hon. William Lukuvi in his visit to Morogoro (17-10-2016) has
continued to implement the program to formalize arbitrary citizens housing 116,
which has distributed 60 original title deeds and instructed municipal land officer,
gives ground to ensure the remaining title deeds within one month.
The government through the Ministry of Lands,
Housing and Human Settlements Development in its plan to improve the development
of the country and their homes, has established a program to formalize
unplanned settlements in the country. This program is planning, organize and
equip the people who built the document in residential and non formal setting.
While in Morogoro Hon. Minister visited some of the
homes of citizens in the Bigwa ward and see how people are supporting the
government's efforts in formalizing unplanned settlements.
Citizens united Bigwa those they tested their ground
and follow the procedure of urban planning in accordance with government
regulations.
In addition, Lukuvi made a surprise tour of Land Registry at Morogoro Municipality, and found a large number of documents of citizens
have gone over a year without reaching characters. Questioned on the issue, and
issue an order to the Municipal Director targeted to reach those documents
within one month.
After the visit Mr. Minister talked to citizens of
Morogoro in Morogoro Municipal offices and listen to their problems and solve
them various land immediately. In his talks urged citizens to support the
government's efforts to formalize their homes so they can live in safe homes
and also recognized that they could benefit from their land to get loans as
banks or in other aspects of their development.
